Anti Aging Research
Finds New Answers for Longer Life

Natural Resveratrol Prolongs Life,
Improves Joint Health and More

Anti aging research has long been viewed as the ultimate scientific quest. Scientists have attempted to find the proverbial Fountain of Youth for centuries in an attempt to slow down the aging clock. Researchers are spending billions of dollars in laboratories around the world to unlock the secrets to living longer.

A landmark laboratory study from Harvard Medical School and published in the journal Nature in 2006 suggests that resveratrol—a plant compound found in red wine—improves energy balance and may protect against cellular aging processes in mice.

Later this study data was converted into a human dose equivalent and published by a research team in a 2007 online and 2008 print journal issue of the Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology (FASEB). More recent studies published in PLoS ONE in June 2008 and Cell Metabolism in August, 2008 indirectly confirm the potential positive effects and intake levels of resveratrol as well.

Specifically, anti aging research from the National Institute on Aging and other institutions published in the 2008 issue of Cell Metabolism data confirming that resveratrol may mimic, in laboratory studies, almost all of the effects of dietary or calorie restriction. This process may activate genetic regulators of cellular longevity pathways, which may have positive effects on cellular health and metabolism.

In addition to slowing cellular aging, laboratory studies show that resveratrol increases cellular energy and benefits joint, heart and brain health as well as immune function.

Longevity genes may hold answers to anti aging

Anti aging discoveries of longevity genes 1 and 2 have identified that genes can be used in anti aging research. Studies have proven that our bodies have the capability of healing and health; we just have to activate this capability.

An anti aging research article in Scientific American Magazine in February, 2006 entitled "Unlocking the Secrets of Longevity Genes" contained the quote:

"A handful of genes that control the body's defenses during
hard times can also dramatically improve health and prolong
life in diverse organisms. Understanding how they work may
reveal the keys to extending human life span while
    banishing diseases of old age."

Anti aging research focuses on resveratrol and plant polyphenols

The biological changes related to aging may start as early as birth or later in life, after we finish growing, leading to an accumulating loss of bodily functions through changes at the cellular level.

For answers, researchers have turned their attention to the plant world. Scientists around the world have been investigating polyphenolic compounds such as resveratrol and have shown in laboratory studies that these compounds can potentially improve health and well-being.

Public health agencies such as the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the National Cancer Institute (NCI), the National Institute on Aging (NIA), as well as the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) have reviewed and studied the potential lifestyle benefits of phenolic compounds.

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) spent over $2.4 billion in 2007 alone to further the scientific understanding of the processes of aging. Towards this end, the National Institute on Aging (NIA) has taken the lead to further the understanding of aging and supports some of the laboratory research on resveratrol and improved health.

Anti aging research shows resveratrol is extremely safe

Most importantly, the Linus Pauling Institute at Oregon State University and other organizations explain that resveratrol is not known to be toxic or cause adverse effects in humans.

Most prominently, safety data from animal studies were published in Toxicoll Sciences in 2004 and in the Journal of Nutrition in 2002. Further, a recent trial that evaluated the safety of oral resveratrol in ten subjects found a single dose from 0.5 to 5 grams resulted in no serious adverse effects. This study was published in 2007 in Cancer Epidemiol Biomarkers.

In another study published November 2006 by the journal Nature, it was indicated that resveratrol had life-extending activity in laboratory mice. Research found that genes involved in an organism’s ability to withstand a stressful environment, such as excessive heat or scarcity of food or water, has the power to keep its natural defense and repair activities going strong regardless of age.

By optimizing the body’s functioning for survival, this family of genes maximizes the individual’s chances of getting through the crisis. And if they remain activated long enough, they can also dramatically enhance the organism’s health and extend its life span. In essence, the study observed, they represent the opposite of aging genes—longevity genes.

Resveratrol slows down aging and enhances the health you already have

The activation answer to increasing life expectancy was found from the natural plant world in a group of molecules containing resveratrol from grapes and polyphenols from plants. Resveratrol has been proven to slow down aging and to enhance the health you already have.

Now with research centered around resveratrol, it may be possible to influence these biological aging processes in positive ways with a "high-tech" natural anti aging supplement.

This new dietary supplement cellular anti aging product has to do with how efficiently cells repair and replicate themselves, which affects your health, well-being, and the aging process in various ways. The benefits include supporting joint health—good news for arthritis sufferers.

How we age: the four key mechanisms of cellular aging

We don’t live in a perfect world and our bodies face the daily threats of the four key mechanisms of cellular aging:

  1. Every cell in the body is bombarded daily by up to a million DNA-damaging assaults that can harm the cell’s genetic database, creating a “typo” that may compromise cell function and longevity.
  2. Genetic regulators contribute to age-related cellular deterioration by controlling the dynamic balance between damage and repair, including whether a cell will live or die.
  3. Mitochondria in our cells create energy we can’t live without. As mitochondrial efficiency decreases, cell function declines.
  4. Excess accumulation of Advanced Glycation End Products (AGE) can cause cellular damage that can compromise cell integrity and longevity.

Anti aging research shows resveratrol impacts the mechanisms of aging

Anti aging research confirms our bodies are under daily attack of the four key mechanisms of cellular aging:

  1. DNA damage—resveratrol helps protect and repair cellular DNA
  2. Genetic Regulators—resveratrol positively impacts these regulators
  3. Declining Cellular Energy Production—resveratrol promotes mitochondrial biogenesis
  4. Advanced Glycation End Products (AGE)—resveratrol slows AGE protein formation.

In laboratory studies, resveratrol has been shown to impact the first three mechanisms markedly and the fourth to a non-remarkable degree.

Anti aging research zeroes in on a remarkable ‘super grape’

However, anti aging research by a nutritional supplement industry leader zeroed in on a remarkable muscadine super grape (known as Vitis rotundifolia) that markedly slows the fourth aging mechanism--an excess accumulation of AGE products that cause cellular damage and compromise cell integrity and longevity.

Muscadine is the only grape found in nature with an extra chromosome, which scientists believe greatly enhances its polyphenol profile and potential health benefits.

In collaboration with scientists from the University of Georgia, the company’s scientists employed a bioassay-guided process, which resulted in a resveratrol supplement with a patent-pending super grape extract with ellagic acid, a polyphenol not found in ordinary grapes. Ellagic acid is thought to be responsible for many of the unique cellular anti-aging actions of the super grape in their new cellular anti aging tonic

New anti-aging tonic contains 98% pure resveratrol and more

The formulation consists of the purest and most potent natural resveratrol. In fact, this extract’s resveratrol content is no less than 98%, and the amount of resveratrol found in the new supplement is guided by the latest scientific studies and emerging research. A 30-day supply of the non-alcohol liquid product delivers the equivalent amount of resveratrol found in 3,000 glasses of red wine.

In addition, the extract is patent-pending and supplies other potent polyphenols affecting cellular longevity pathways, such as phenolic acids, ellagitannins, anthocyanins, and proanthocyanidins. The combination of natural ingredients were shown in a laboratory study to be ten times more powerful in slowing the AGE protein formations than resveratrol alone.

In addition to positively impacting the four key mechanisms of cellular aging, this supplement is backed by the relevant research cited above to also support heart health and cardiovascular function, brain health, immune function, joint health, health and well-being, supplies antioxidants and fights free radicals while increasing cellular energy.
